Christmas in Salou
Although most people visit Salou during the main holiday season (march toOctober). Salou is becoming more and more popular as a winter destination, and each year more hotels such as the Caspel Hotel are catering for the Christmas time visitors.
True Salou will not be lively, it will not be busy, the majority of bars and restaurants will shut down for the winter season, but there are many that stay open and you will always find somewhere nice to eat and somewhere to have a quite drink.
The weekends at Christmas time will see the resorts of Salou and Cambrils busier with Spanish nationals having a day out to visit this loveley coastline.
For nightclubbing and crowds then Salou at Christmas time is not a good idea. For some warm winter sunshine, nice walks on uncroawded beaches and total relaxation then Salou is ideal.
During the winter you will find the town centres and residential bar and restaurants busier than the tourist areas. Take a trip to the neighbouring towns of Cambrils, Reus and Tarragona.
As well as the winter sunshine, you are able to enjoy some great walks around the countryside of Catalunya, of course you may still want that buzz and Salou's biggest attraction The PortAventura Theme Park is open till the first week in January (check dates) and is also transformed this time of year into a Christmas wonderland.
The best way to find the hotels that are open over the winter season is to search by the dates you are looking for at sunshine.co.uk or alpharooms.
